The Society is formed for the purpose of promoting solo piping.

It meets monthly (except for December) usually on the fourth Monday of the month at 7.30 p.m. at Balmoral Bowls Club, Jean Howie Drive, Morningside.

The meetings consist of competitions and recitals of solo piping, together with a time for making and renewing acquaintances over supper.

Members and non-members are welcome to attend meetings. Admission is $2 (plus the raffle if you so choose!)

We also run a Piobaireachd Club which meets (usually) on the first Sunday of each month at Rochedale State High School Performing Arts Centre, Priestdale Road, Rochedale from 10AM to 1PM.

An annual subscription costs $25. There is a newsletter in each month when there is a meeting. The newsletter will keep you up to date with piping and Pipe Bands around he world. The newsletter can be sent to you by mail, fax or email. An application form may be found here.

1990 was the Silver Jubilee year of the Society and a concise history of this first 25 years titled "Silver Chanters" was produced. It is available from the Secretary at a cost of $5.00 plus postage
The Society has also published a Collection of Highland Bagpipe Music which is available from the Secretary for $7.50 plus postage. See the contacts page for the address to write to.
